Autumn 1923, rue Vignon, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, a small acoustic optical shop was created at the initiative of Louis Lafont. Three generations later, the Art Deco-spirited spot imposes as a reference in the field of moonlight creation. Under the impulse of his grandson, Philippe, and his wife, Laurence, the Lafont glasses are a real fashion accessory. The tandem multiplies innovations and collaborations with large Couture Houses such as Hermès or Chanel. Today the Paris House has four shops and exports to more than 40 countries.
At the end of the 1970s, elegant and innovative creations attracted all fashion designers on Cambon Street.

For more than 40 years, Maison Lafont has been defending French production by developing in partnership with Thierry sa, a Jurassian family manufacturer. This collaboration respects and defends the moon heritage and the passion of the beautiful product. It is based on a know-how combining craftsmanship and high technology, and guarantees unquestionable manufacturing quality and creative wealth, internationally recognized. By choosing the Origin France Guarantee certification, the Maison Lafont promotes transparency on the origin and traceability of products.
As a historic pillar of French manufacturing, Maison Lafont has chosen the OFG certification (Origine France Garantie). After reviewing our file and auditing our manufacturing chain by an independent accredited body (Bureau Veritas), we received this certification in May 2016. To date, more than 80% of our offer is OFG certified, more than 500 references in the collection.
The main criteria for obtaining:
· The product takes its essential characteristics face and branches in France.
· 50% of the Unitary Return Price of the product must be acquired in France.
Concretely, this means that: the manufacture of faces and branches, surface treatment, polishing, assembly and finishing are systematically done in France in a French manufacture.

A moonlight tradition that is passed from generation to generation in Haut-Jura, a historical basin of French moonlight manufacturing. Gestures, words, for a unique know-how: polishing and brilliance of hand-made frames, caneling of the acetate nose by hand for greater comfort, bicolor treatment of metal frames by wiping, etc.
But also high technology with an acetate cutting made by 5-axis machining centers, laser graving, high frequency bonding, etc.
