When he graduated as an optician in 1999, Jean-Philippe Douis does not yet know where his tribulations will lead him. By entering the profession with a series of replacements (22 on the meter), he has an intuition: we have to relocate the production. Not of the kind to remain crossed arms, he then drew a first collection which he entrusted to a French workshop. Cocorico! He just saw: proximity and authenticity are very successful. Their standard mounts on the nose, the NAONED addicts form an increasing community. Today we carry NAONEDs to Manhattan (already about ten outlets in NYC), but DNA from the brand remains proudly anchored in the local. The collections are entirely made in France, in Nantes, lovingly preserving the know-how of traditional bezeling. An assertive, generous vision... for real!

Manufactured glasses in France
Back to the overall trend, our bet is to re-emphasize the local coat of arms. Put on your glasses for a brief historical reminder: in 1980 there were 250 manufacturing workshops, today there are about ten. It may be a detail for you but for us it means a lot. We traveled the Hexagon to find rare pearls, passionate manufacturers who perpetuate the French moonlight know-how. So that our carbon balance is as light as your beautiful frames...
We do not forget that our primary profession is that of optician. Years of adjusting glasses on faces with a nose, two eyes and two ears (not exhaustive list), it gave us a lot of ideas to build your frames. Because before you look pretty, your glasses must be especially comfortable and allow you to see clearly. This is the kind of challenge that stimulates us: turning a technical product into an aesthetic prosthetic, so that your frames always give you a good look.

Mounts made of quality materials
Get out the vulgar plastic! We use cellulose acetate, a material derived from wood or cotton cellulose, which combines a beautiful resistance to an incomparable aesthetic result. Easy to cut and tint, this acetate is resistant to life, sea baths, lures and lunches on the terrace. Ecolo compatible, it is also hypoallergenic. Our supplier is based in Italy, the cradle of the most beautiful houses.
Our metal frames are made of traditional optical bezel alloys: mesh short, monel, bronze are treated with hypoallergenic varnish. A guarantee of quality and longevity, for real.
